Winter Party

Sadly I missed the last day before the break, but by the pics I received from the moms who attended it looks like EVERYONE had a great time. I'm so glad that they enjoyed Ms. Pierce...she was a trooper!

Raytheon Laser Visit

We had employees from Raytheon come visit our classrooms today. They showed our class a presentation about job opportunities that relate to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Students were then broken into groups and given a task to build a table only using 20 sheets of printer paper, masking tape, and a par it of scissors. They did a fantastic job. We have one team who's table was able to hold 9 think dictionaries!!!

We were the first class out to recess and it was gorgeous. We spent a couple minutes taking some group pics. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break...enjoy the week off!

Veteran's Day Parade

We had a wonderful Veteran's Day Parade at school. It was so humbling to watch our Veteran's parade past us. Thank you for your service!

First Grade Buddy Treasure Hunt

 Our 1st grade buddies in Mrs. Rivera's class made maps of the school for their ELM project. They invited us to read their directions and use their maps to fins dome treasure (pencils). It was lots of fun and they did a great job exploring the school together.

Field Trip: Dallas Symphony Orchestra

Today we took our first field trip to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. It was a fantastic day and the weather was perfect. We hopped on the bus and headed downtown.

Once we arrived, we took a class picture before entering the symphony building. Everyone looked so nice in their fancy outfits!

 We found out that we were sitting up in the second balcony. The kids thought it was pretty awesome.

 Afterwards we headed to a park to eat our lunch and then had some time to play on the playground. Before getting on the bus to return to school, we took one last group picture. We had such an amazing day! Thank you to the parent volunteers who assisted on this trip!
