Remembering...

As the year winds down, we have started "remembering" what we learned all year long. Students formed groups and made their lists. It is so wonderful to watch this group of students work together. They are do such a great job!

Field Day

Field Day is one of the most popular events here at school. Coach Hood and Coach Ross put together so many fun events and parents and other volunteers make the event happen. Thanks to everyone who assisted in helping our students have an amazing day!

We started with an indoor lunch. Students ate in the classroom and hallway since the weather was not ideal for an outdoor picnic.

After lunch students partnered up and headed outdoors to see which events they would get to participate in this year.

I had to take a class photo BEFORE all of the water activities.

We started at station #3 and then students would rotate with their partner through all of the stations as soon as they completed them. The kids loved this!

We lined up to head inside before the rain came. We got inside just in time!

Everyone enjoyed hanging out while snacking on a delicious otter pop. Thanks again to everyone who assisted in helping put this wonderful event on for our student body.

May is here

Class Picture on a Stampede day.
We have been so busy as we finish out the school year. It is hard to believe that there is less than a month left of school. I have the BEST class ever and I will miss them!!!

Hawaiian Day photo

Penny Wars--students brought in change every day to donate to Head for the Cure. I had groups of students organize and count the coins.

Brain Break--I had the hula hoops for the Talent Show Tryouts. I figured I might as well let them take turns using them. They had a blast!

Science: Sand Comparisons

Students compared the attributes of three different types of sand.

Writing: Peer Editing

The class has been working on a writing prompt for over a week now. We've taken it slow and focused on gradually building our story so that it has a lot of adjectives, vivid verbs, and figurative language. The class have been busy revising and editing their narrative piece.

Science: Volcano Experiment

We have been talking about Natural Resources and natural disasters. We made a class volcano which we named Mt. Bayley-wayley. Students observed how volcanoes erupt and how the land surrounding it changes after multiple eruptions.
