The Monster by Analia

The Monster

A goo ran down the door,
a shadow appeared on the floor,
an odd aroma filled the room,
it was silent and then BOOM!

On my bed I trembled with fear,
maybe a monster was near,
I searched for the monster around the house,
all I found was a mouse.

Then when got back to my room,
when I saw it it felt like sudden doom,
a monster was on my bed,
it felt as if I would soon be dead.

The monster was not real,
I'm glad I was not a meal,
right now I am going to bed,
and I'm going to rest my head.

Fun Friday

Today we enjoyed our Fun Friday on a Thursday. It is nice to take time to build relationships through interactive play. I snapped a few pictures of them during their free time today

PACK Week

Idioms-Clock Walk

Today we started to learn about idioms. The kids had a great time recognizing and naming some examples they have heard before. They had fun learning this new form of figurative language.

I gave each student an idiom card and separated them into 2 equal groups. They formed two circle, an inner and outer circle. They took turns sharing their idiom and teaching their partner about the difference between the literal meaning and the actual meaning. The inner circle would then rotate clockwise to the next person and repeat. They really did a wonderful job! I'm proud of them for working hard on a new skill on the Friday afternoon before spring break!

Thank you Ms. Tennant

My wonderful student teacher, Ms. Tennant, is finishing up her last day in 3rd grade. Both classes have had so much fun with her in our class. She has done a phenomenal job working with these kiddos and I know she will do an amazing job in 2nd grade. We wish her the best of luck passing her tests, graduating, and finding a teaching job.

We will miss you Ms. Tennant! Thanks for all that you have done!

Love,
All of Us
