Idioms-Clock Walk

Today we started to learn about idioms. The kids had a great time recognizing and naming some examples they have heard before. They had fun learning this new form of figurative language.

I gave each student an idiom card and separated them into 2 equal groups. They formed two circle, an inner and outer circle. They took turns sharing their idiom and teaching their partner about the difference between the literal meaning and the actual meaning. The inner circle would then rotate clockwise to the next person and repeat. They really did a wonderful job! I'm proud of them for working hard on a new skill on the Friday afternoon before spring break!
